Sad news out of Bryan County, Georgia yesterday after five Georgia Southern University nursing students were killed in a tractor trailer accident on I-16E. According to officials, the tractor trailer driver didn’t stop for slowed traffic in front of him and collided with a row of vehicles. Reports indicate that four victims died at the scene, another passed away in the hospital. At least three other people were injured in the accident that involved two semi-trucks and five passenger cars.
The flag at Georgia Southern will be flown at half-staff today and memorial arrangements are being hosted by the Student Nurses’ Association, Kappa Delta Sorority, Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, and Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority at Sweetheart Circle on the GSU campus.
